An ontology to describe the damage process to built cultural heritage triggered by earthquakes: The CHEDO model

En este artículo se presenta el modelo CHEDO (Cultural Heritage Earthquake Damage Ontology). Esta ontología ha sido diseñada para documentar los daños y pérdidas causados por terremotos en el patrimonio cultural, mediante su integración en sistemas BIM interconectados con bases de datos, aunque esta integración no se aborda en el presente trabajo. El modelo CHEDO integra términos y relaciones para documentar el proceso de daños en relación con las características del edificio (arquitectónicas, espaciales, constructivas y geométricas) y el entorno físico del mismo. Este modelo, al proporcionar una descripción exhaustiva del edificio y su entorno, permite documentar los daños de forma completa y precisa, lo que favorece la planificación de la restauración y reconstrucción tras el terremoto.

Accessible information model for indoor remote user By Integrating GIS and BIM

There is a growing interest in the integration of BIM and GIS. However, most of the researches are focused on importing BIM data in GIS applications and vice versa. Real integration of BIM and GIS is using the strong parts of the GIS technology in BIM, and the strong parts from BIM technology in GIS. This research paper gives a mixture of strong parts from both worlds and they are integrated and individually stand up with a virtual globe to elaborate the informational models which can be accessed through a hand held device. According to the researches, during the last decade the personal interest on 3-D modeling has increased so far due to their user friendliness and reliability. So the authors of this paper have taken the advantage of this to approach to merge both Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) and also to use some of the technologies standalone to model a prototype building into a 3-D intelligent information model which can be accessed through a hand held device.

A BIM-Oriented Model for Supporting Indoor Navigation Requirements

Existing indoor navigation approaches such as navigation based on 2D geometries and pre-defined routing remain insufficient for many applications such as emergency response, delivery, utility maintenance, facility management and so on. The insufficiencies caused by existing navigation approaches can be overcome by using the advanced geometric and semantic information included in intelligent building models.. In this paper, we present a novel Building Information Model (BIM) Oriented a model in order to support indoor navigation and orientation. This paper explains the BIM Oriented Modeling methodology used for the definition of a new indoor information model (BO-IDM) and describes the transfer of information from a standard BIM (IFC) into the BO-IDM. The results of the research indicate that the BO-IDM carries the potential of facilitating emergency response operations by, i.) overcoming the limitations of geospatial and city models regarding representation of semantic information required for better navigation and orientation and ii.) eliminating the non-geo-referenced structure and complex geometries of BIMs.

Integration of Historic Building Information Modeling (HBIM) and 3D GIS for Recording and Managing Cultural Heritage Sites

This paper presents a design framework for the integration of two new developments in this area, Historic Building Information Modeling (HBIM) and CityGML. HBIM provides a solution for parametric modeling of historic buildings/objects from laser scan or photogrammetric survey data. HBIM includes a plug in library of architectural objects for Building Information Modeling software platforms and a system for plotting these objects to laser scan or photogrammetric survey data.
