Los simulacros en la gestión del riesgo (Simulation Exercises - SIMEXs) son herramientas esenciales en la preparación de la respuesta ante el riesgo de desastres de origen natural, siendo especialmente útiles cuando se centran en el desarrollo de sistemas de alerta temprana (Early Warning System - EWS) que garantizan la correcta activación de los mecanismos de respuesta en el menor tiempo posible. Este documento se centra en el análisis específico de tres tipos de SIMEXs: Based EXercise - DBX, Table Top EXercise - TTX, Comand Post EXercise - CPX; considerándolos los más indicados para poner a prueba los sistemas de alerta temprana y mecanismos de protección civil a escala internacional.

Currently, any cultural heritage management program or plan would be weak if it did not include strategies for assessing the impact of climate change on properties, adapting its projects to these impacts, and improving the sustainability of its interventions. Since the beginning of this century, efforts to systematise assessments that integrate both exposure to climate impacts and vulnerability of cultural heritage have accelerated. The aim of this work is to review the progress of European projects that have carried out risk and vulnerability assessments of climate change impacts on cultural heritage, using case studies of archaeological sites. Their critical assessment will determine the current state of the art and allow us to identify lines of action for effective adaptation to the challenge posed by climate change.

This study presents a comprehensive overview of existing knowledge, at European and international level, on the safeguarding of cultural heritage against the effects of natural disasters and man-made hazards. It also maps existing strategies and tools for disaster risk management in the 28 Member States. It also provides evidence-based recommendations to support European cooperation and improve the integration of cultural heritage into national platforms for disaster risk reduction.
