The present document has been drawn up on the basis of the following: "Guide to preserving bibliographical materials and archival documents on paper: General considerations" (2015), by the History Department of the Comprehensive Information Center of the Central University of Ecuador, "Guide to preventive measures for cultural heritage property in the event of the threat of earthquakes" (2011) and "Guide to preventive mea-sures for cultural heritage property in the event of volcanic eruptions" (2015), by the Na-tional Cultural Heritage Institute (INPC) and "Contingency Handbook: Preventive measures for cultural heritage property in the event of volcanic eruptions", by the Ministry of Culture and Heritage (2016). It has been prepared for the purpose of disseminating knowledge and promoting support in recovering archives (repositories of memory) of the province of Manabí, in the framework of the "Local Capacity-Building Project for the Emergency Conservation of Historical Archives in Areas Affected by the April 16 Earth-quake (16A)".
This illustrated manual (29pp) is the result of knowledge gained from similar field experiences gathered through ICCROM's First Aid to Cultural Heritage in Times of Crisis capacity building initiative.
It provides a step-by-step guide for evacuating cultural collections under extreme conditions. It is intended to assist those communities and institutions that are trying to prevent the destruction and looting of cultural objects during a crisis situation. It can be used to train others and improve emergency preparedness at cultural sites.

El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar los riesgos de inundación y humedad en las ciudades históricas para establecer una metodología que priorice las actuaciones de conservación preventiva y las restauraciones. El estudio de caso se refiere al centro histórico de Sevilla (España) y a las iglesias parroquiales construidas entre los siglos XIII y XVIII.
